I work at The Next Chapter on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Seeking support through counselling can be a difficult first step on the journey to good mental health, but the process can be truly life-changing. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental, compassionate space in which to explore your problems, enabling you to gain a better understanding of your difficulties.
I believe it is important to look at the root of your issues to try and gain the necessary insight to help change your mindset or any patterns of behaviour that are troubling you. Together we will work on developing a better understanding of your issues, strengthening your personal resilience and the ability to move forward.
I provide both long term psychotherapy and short term counselling. Not all counselling approaches work for everyone. As an integrative counsellor I offer flexibility, adapting my approach to suit what is most helpful for your process.
I trained in counselling at Edinburgh University in both Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches and have also trained as a bereavement counsellor with Cruse Scotland.
I am experienced in working with people who have issues with anxiety, depression, relationships and family difficulties, transitions, self harming, sexuality, identity and addiction.
Special areas of interest include trauma, abuse, loss and bereavement.
I offer 50 minute sessions on a weekly basis. The first session is £30 and thereafter the cost is £45 per session.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their strict code of ethics. I am also a member of The Psychologists Protection Society.
I practise at The Next Chapter on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
