I am a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor. This means I put you as the client at the centre of our work together and although the counselling process can be a painful and challenging, it can be transformational. I don’t have a magic wand, but I have supported clients with a vast range of different issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and bereavement. I do this by providing a safe space, which has warmth and compassion; a place where you feel valued and free.
My work experience so far has been very varied and wide ranging and my area of expertise is one to one counselling for adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma as well as domestic violence.
I also have a background and experience in using art and creativity in a therapeutic way. This can provide a fresh perspective and help people to get in touch with their emotions.
The name “Wildflowers Counselling” generally reflects my approach to counselling. There is no agenda or no plan to each session. Instead, like wildflowers, the counselling session happens in a natural and organic way. There is no design or straight edges like a formal garden. Instead the seed plants itself and the wildflower emerges. My belief is that you are the expert in your life, you know best what to bring and what to talk about in the moment; I can however bring expertise in helping you find your way forward.
My Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling is from the University of Strathclyde, and I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
The cost of the session will be £45 (reduced rates are available).
I would be delighted to talk to you on the phone if you would like to know more about my counselling practice or if you want to ask any questions, without any pressure to commit to counselling.
