bookshop

can we help you find a helpful book?

You can ask for book suggestions on any mental health or wellbeing question, whether you want something for yourself or to help someone else.

We have non-fiction on psychology and psychotherapy, identity, social and economic issues, nature, sex and relationships, work, money, wellbeing and personal development, mental ill-health, philosophy and life advice, grief and loss, plus memoir or poetry, for adults, children and young people.

You can get a quick list of suggestions by email, or book a consultation with a bookshop advisor for an in-depth discussion.

or contact us to set up a bibliotherapy consultation:

consultations

You can arrange a supportive, confidential consultation with one of our bookshop advisors so we can really understand what you’re looking for in detail.

how it works

  • booking: contact us to arrange a date and time for a detailed chat
  • preparation: we send you a questionnaire so we can start thinking about suggestions for you
  • consultation: we have a phone or video call (your choice) lasting about 45 minutes to talk about what it is you are looking for, what you have read already, and what reading can do for you
  • book suggestions: within 2-3 days of the call, we send you a list of book suggestions, and for the following 2 weeks we are available by email for any follow-up questions about the list.

There is no pressure to take our suggestions and we will not be checking up to see if you did your homework! (but we would love your feedback and you can get back in touch with us any time).
