Starting counselling can feel daunting, it can feel overwhelming to share your problems with someone else or even to reach out and ask for help. The decision to begin, and what has led you to counselling, will be unique to you.
I work with clients in a person-centred way. A central element of this approach is the belief that we all possess internal wisdom and that, given the right conditions, are capable of positive growth. As your therapist, I will work with you to build a relationship that supports you to explore difficult feelings or challenging experiences. I focus on offering a warm, confidential and compassionate space in my work with clients.
In my role as a counsellor, I have worked with clients from a variety of different backgrounds, experiences and stages of life. I am experienced in working together with clients who are exploring their experiences of anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, life transitions, trauma, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are exploring experiences of trauma, loss or bereavement.
I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling at The University of Edinburgh. My training is in the psychodynamic and person-centred schools of therapy. I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and I work within their ethical framework.
I offer counselling in person, with online sessions as an option where essential.
