The decision to start therapy is a courageous one. And if you are thinking about therapy you already recognise the need for someone to talk to about the difficulties you are experiencing. It can be challenging, but therapy can help you make sense of your life, be transformative and help you better understand your relationship with yourself and others.
My aim is to work with you in a responsive, collaborative and compassionate way. And by providing a space that feels supportive, open and respectful, help you explore the difficulties you are experiencing and navigate a way through your distress. At the core of my practice is the belief that you as the client know what is best for you to bring about the change and growth you are looking for in your life.
I completed my training in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Strathclyde. My training also includes psychodynamic and gestalt therapeutic approaches. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics as part of my commitment to best practice. I participate in continued professional development and training, and I also attended regular clinical supervision.
My interests include meditation, creative writing, wild swimming and travelling. These interests support and inform my work as a therapist.
I work with adults with a broad range of experiences, including anxiety, anger, bereavement, grief, loss, depression, abuse, trauma, relationship issues, infertility, sexuality, chronic illness, addiction and OCD.
I provide long term and short term work in person or online.
I believe cost should not be a barrier to therapy and so I offer a limited number of concessionary rate places for people living on means-tested benefits or an income below the Real Living Wage. I do not have any consessionary places available at the moment.
Please get in touch directly if you are interested in working with me.
