What brings us to counselling is uniquely personal. Sometimes an event turns our lives upside down, and other times something hits us out of the blue and we are left feeling overwhelmed, angry, anxious, confused and sometimes even numb. My hope is that through the counselling relationship you will find a space to start the journey towards healing and growth.
I endeavour to offer you a confidential, non-judgemental and reflective space where we will collaboratively work to make it feel safe enough for you to bring any issues that are troubling you. We will explore the feelings, thoughts and experiences you are having and how it all fits within the landscape of your life.
A little bit about me:
I am a fully qualified counsellor and I have experience working with clients from different walks of life and at different stages in their lives. I have worked with a range of difficulties brought to the counselling space such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, panic attacks, trauma, loss, bereavement, sexuality, identity, chronic pain and cultural issues.
I am interested in working creatively with my clients to find ways that facilitate their expression in the counselling room. I am also interested in the embodied experiences my clients bring and will often be curious about them in the session.
I usually offer counselling sessions in English but I am open to offering sessions in Arabic.
I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling at the University of Edinburgh. I am member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework. As part of my commitment to that I have regular clinical supervision and attend regular workshops and training to ensure continuity in my professional development.
