Seeking help is part of coping. You may not feel very resilient when you first decide to begin counselling but this step alone is a brave choice to make. I offer a space, in which we can explore this step together, recognising the needs and hopes you are bringing into the counselling room.

My aim is to build a trusting working relationship with you, from which we can observe rather than judge what might be going on for you. We will work towards increasing your awareness of the options available to you, to help you make choices in the areas of life that are troubling you.

Different people benefit differently from counselling, and there are many reasons to enter therapy. I have worked with clients at different stages in their lives, ranging from young adults looking to find their feet in the world to older individuals struggling with current or past life events. I value diversity and welcome inquiries from all different backgrounds, encouraging those that are underrepresented in society. Every client is unique.

My counselling experience includes working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, abuse and neglect, living with illness, loss, grief, transitions, questions around identity, sexuality, and relationships. I also have an interest in physical pain, and how we carry it in our bodies.

I completed person-centred and psychodynamic training at the University of Edinburgh. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As part of abiding by the BACP code of ethics, I take ongoing personal and professional development very seriously, regularly attending further training as well as personal therapy and clinical supervision.

Originally from Germany, I settled in Edinburgh in 2016. Though my training was completed in the English language, I am open to offering counselling in German / both languages where this is helpful.

Counselling is a courageous undertaking. If we decide to work together, I will commit to being alongside you through this – through difficult times, as well as personal achievements.

If you’re interested in working with me, you can contact me via email.
